Features to know about

Tow Both 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailers: Adapter Gives You Standard Rails

If you already have a Curt EZr Double Lock gooseneck hitch, the Curt X5 adapter turns that same setup into a base for a 5th wheel hitch. It drops right into the gooseneck ball hole and locks in using the hitch handle—no permanent changes needed. Once in place, it provides a set of industry-standard rails so you can mount common 5th wheel hitches from Curt, Reese, Draw-Tite, Husky, Valley, and others. It’s a simple way to make one truck work for both towing styles.

Solid Connection for Heavy Loads: Rated for 20,000 lbs GTW and 4,000 lbs Tongue Weight

This adapter is built from sturdy steel with a carbide black finish and can handle up to 20,000 lbs gross towing weight and 4,000 lbs tongue weight. That strength means it’s ready for demanding loads while maintaining a secure connection. The round shank locks firmly into the gooseneck hitch, keeping everything tight and stable as you tow.

Fast Setup When You Need It: Drop-In Mounting Saves Time

There’s no complicated hardware or long install process to turn your gooseneck into a 5th wheel setup. Just drop the X5 adapter into the gooseneck ball opening and secure it with the existing locking pin from your hitch. When you’re done towing, remove it just as easily to get your truck bed back for hauling other gear.

Built to Last: Durable Steel with Carbide Black Finish

The all-steel construction is tough enough for frequent use, and the carbide black finish helps resist rust and wear over time. Whether you’re towing seasonally or every weekend, the X5 holds up to repeated installs and heavy use without losing its secure fit.

Fit perfect! I ordered the wrong one first as I was not aware there were two different models of the adapter. Now that I have the correct it works great!

by:

Product fit perfectly with no problems. The 5th wheel assembly I already had fit on the adapter plate. Saved me from having to buy a new and expensive 5th wheel hitch. Great product.

by:

works great it did everything it was suppose to.

Works great. The fifth wheel adapter has been used to tow my 19,000 gvw 5th wheel trailer from Wisconsin to Texas back and forth for 2 years.

by:

Took 2 minutes to install. Works great, I had it hooked up to my fifth wheel 2 hours after UPS delivered.

by:

Excellent customer service and shipping service

by:

Product fit perfectly, shipping was SUPER fast, great customer service! A++++! Definitely recommend etrailer!

by:

Great service and good shipping time haven't tried the hitch yet but looks like it will work as promised thanks

by:

Everything arrived in perfect condition. With a little trim of the bed liner the adapter fit perfectly as described. My Curt A-16 hitch looks great paired up with the gooseneck adapter. Ready to hit the road!

by:

This adaptor is the reason I went with the under bed Kurt gooseneck. You can get the whole package at a reasonable price and trust that nothing is going to fail. Well made product. It's just light enough to manhandle, yet just heavy enough to trust.

by:

The part is great but trying to get them to ship was a chore took over a month to get delivered and a tracking number I called every day and did not get to much til I was going to cancel my order then they had info for me

by:

Heavy and doesn't fit flat on my truck bed, had to add some heavy duro rubber shims between this and the bed floor. I paired this with the C611-624 gooseneck hitch.

by:

Excellent Product...literally took 2 minutes to install!!

by:

Is an ok at best product in my opinion. I placed a brand new Reece 20,000 5th wheel hitch in the Curst Base Rail adapter to find that the holes for the pins did not line up the best. 3 of the 4 were close enough for the pins to go into, the last hole (front hole on right side) had to have approximately a 32nd and close to a 1/16th of an inch of metal removed for the pin to line up correctly and go through the hole.
I have since purchased a different truck and installed a B & W gooseneck hitch and purchased a B & W rail system. The new B & W system is flawless and works great.
I have attempted to sell the Curt X5 base rail adapter online with no success, currently it is simply taking up space in the corner of my shop.

by:

This adapter allowed me to quickly install a fifth wheel hitch in my single wheel shortbed truck which had a gooseneck hitch without any extra installation work, other than just dropping it in. Easily installed and has worked well with a slider hitch.

by:

Received my order in 3 business days, with free shipping and It was an exact fit! Plan on buying here from here on out!!

by:

Works good.Everything fit. Thanks Joe

  • Best Adapter to Convert Curt EZr Gooseneck to Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for 2019 GMC Sierra 2500
Let's start with the adapter you need for the Curt EZr Double Lock Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C611-624 in your 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed, which is the Curt X5 5th-Wheel Base Rail Adapter Plate for EZr Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # C16220. This adapter will fit into the EZr hitch and give you above-bed fifth wheel rails for a number of compatible 5th wheel hitches. If you could send me a picture of the gooseneck hitch you have installed in your 2017 GMC Sierra 2500 then I would be able to make a more educated guess but based on your description you have the Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Hitch part # C607-604 and the correct adapter would indeed be part # C16210. However, if the gooseneck hitch was installed at the dealer then you would have had the Curt EZr Gooseneck Hitch part # C611-624 and the correct adapter would be part # C16220. I have attached...

If the safety loops are offset from the ball hole, and pretty small in comparision you have the Double Lock and will need the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for Curt Double Lock Gooseneck Trailer Hitches - 20,000 lbs # C16210. There are a couple of options which you can choose from which will allow you to pull a 5th wheel trailer with your 2008 Ford F-350, which I'll go over for you. The best option by far is the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045 because it gives you the security of a fifth wheel hitch with a strong jaw system while simply fitting on the gooseneck ball of the Curt EZr. It is both simple to use and strong, with a 21,000 lb towing capacity. I strongly recommend...

Curt has fifth wheel rail adapters for their gooseneck hitches like the part # C16210 for if the hitch is a double lock gooseneck or the part # C16220 for if it's an EZr style. The easy way to tell if your hitch is an EZr or a double lock is to look at the sides of the hitch ball. If there is a slot that runs between the ball holes it's EZr (see first picture. Hey Damien, The Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitches # 16310 would be secured only by the pin in the B&W Turnoverball hitch and would not require additional bolts to mount it. The only difference between Item # C16220 for EZr hitches and Item # C16210 for Curt double lock hitches is the shaft on Item # C16220 is going to be 3/8" longer than the shaft on Item # C16210. I would not recommend trying to use Item # C16220 on a hitch designed for Item # C16210. With the shaft being a little longer, the rails may not sit flat on the bed. If you tried using Item # C16210 on an EZr hitch the pin holes would not line up because of the shorter shaft.
